Where to get a COVID vaccine in Miami-Dade

The COVID vaccine is available to all residents of Miami-Dade County 12 and older. At most pharmacies and vaccine sites, you don’t need an appointment. The vaccine is free to all, whether or not you have insurance. You do not need to be a resident to receive it.

Teens under 18 can receive only the Pfizer vaccine, and most sites require a parents or guardian to be present to vaccinate them. They will also need this consent form at state sites. Adults can receive the Pfizer, Moderna or J&J vaccine.

We’ve put together a guide to help you find a free COVID vaccine in Miami-Dade. We update this guide as new sites open or we get new information. With all the major pharmacies offering vaccines, plus government and community sites, there are now lots of options with no waiting and usually no appointments required.

You can text your ZIP code to 438829 to find a location near you, though not all sites will be included.

Who can get a COVID vaccine in Miami-Dade?

• All Florida residents 12 and older. Teens 12-17 can receive only the Pfizer vaccine.

Where are COVID vaccines being given in Miami-Dade?

Retail pharmacies

Publix, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Winn-Dixie, Costco, Walgreens, CVS (including Navarro and CVS y mas) and Fresco y Mas pharmacies are administering the vaccine. You can make an appointment, but many stores also accept walk-ins. Not all stores from the same chain administer the same vaccine, and usually each store offers only one type of vaccine.

• Publix. All Miami-Dade locations with pharmacies. You can make an appointment online or walk in. Moderna. 
• CVS. Vaccines are available at most CVS stores with pharmacies, plus all CVS Pharmacy y más stores and all Navarro Discount Pharmacy stores. People without computer access can call CVS customer service at 1-800-746-7287. Walk-in or appointment. Moderna and Pfizer.
• Walgreens. Vaccines are available in most South Florida stores. If you want to make an appointment, you need to create an online account at Walgreens.com. You can also call 1-800-925-4733 and schedule via an automated phone system. Most Walgreens stores are using the Pfizer vaccine, but some are using Moderna. 
• Costco. Vaccines are available at most South Florida Costco stores. Moderna, Pfizer and J&J, varies by store. You do not need to be a member.
• Walmart. Most stores are offering the vaccine in South Florida. Moderna and Pfizer, varies by store. 
• Winn-Dixie. Vaccines are offered in Miami, Aventura, Margate and Lake Worth. Pfizer.
• Fresco y Mas. The locations at 18300 SW 137th Avenue in Miami and 5850 NW 183rd Street, Hialeah, are offering the Pfizer vaccine.
• Sam’s Club. Vaccines are available in Miami, Miramar, Sunrise, Coral Springs and West Palm Beach. Moderna. 
• PDL Pharmacy, 7167 W Flagler St, Miami, FL 33144, is offering vaccines. You can request an appointment here.
• Las Villas Pharmacy, 716 W. 29th St., Hialeah, is offering the Moderna vaccine. Call 305-883-7476 for an appointment.
• Ethos Wellness Pharmacy, 260 Crandon Blvd, Suite 33, Key Biscayne, FL 33149, is offering J&J vaccine. You can make an appointment here.

Some smaller pharmacies also are providing vaccines. This tool lets you see all the available pharmacy appointments at once (you can search by ZIP), which is a good way to find out which store has which vaccine. But there is a chance some pharmacy openings are not updated.

County and state vaccine centers 

Miami-Dade County has put together a COVID vaccine portal. You can also call 305-614-2014 for vaccine information or appointments, but most sites accept walk-in or drive-up clients. You can pre-register online to make the process quicker. Minors 12-17 can receive only the Pfizer vaccine and will need this consent form.

• Dolphin Mall (valet near Cheesecake Factory), 11401 NW 12th St., Miami, FL 33172. Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Pfizer.
• Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St., Miami, FL 33155. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Pfizer, Moderna and J&J.
• Hard Rock Stadium, 347 Don Shula Dr, Miami Gardens, FL 33056. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Pfizer. 
• Aventura Mall (enter on NE 29th Court near Citibank), 19501 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Pfizer.
• Zoo Miami, 2400 SW 152nd St., Miami, FL 33177. Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Pfizer.

• Miami Dade College North Campus, 11380 NW 27th Ave, Miami, FL 33167. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. J&J and second doses of Pfizer.
• Joseph Caleb Center, 5400 NW 22 Ave, Miami, FL 33142. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Pfizer.
• Harris Field, 675 North Homestead Boulevard, Homestead, FL 33030. Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. Pfizer.
• Health District Center, 1350 NW 14 St., Miami, FL 33125. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Appointment recommended. Pfizer.
• Little Haiti Clinic, 300 NE 80 Terrace, Miami, FL 33138. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Appointment recommended. Pfizer.
• West Perrine Clinic, 18255 Homestead Ave., Miami, FL 33157. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pfizer.
• 95th Street Park, 1175 95th St., Bay Harbor Islands, FL 33154. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pfizer and J&J.
• Home Depot, 1590 W. 49th St., Hialeah, FL 33012. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pfizer and J&J.
• Haulover Park, 13731 Collins Ave., Miami, FL 33154. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pfizer and J&J.
• Ronselli Park, 250 SW 114TH Ave., Miami ,FL 33174. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pfizer and J&J.
• Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, 18070 Collins Ave., Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pfizer and J&J.
• Hialeah Gardens Library, 13451 NW 107TH Ave., Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pfizer and J&J.
• Home Depot (Deerwood), 11905 SW 152nd St., Miami, FL 33177. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pfizer and J&J.
• Miami International Airport Concourse J, 3rd floor, International Greeter’s Lobby, upstairs from Door 22. 2100 NW 42nd Ave., Miami, FL 33122. Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. J&J and Pfizer. This site will be open through July 20.

Pop-up sites

The state is no longer offering pop-up vaccines.

Community and city sites

The Atlantis Educational Center is joining with the Downtown Jewish Chabad Center to provide vaccines in Miami Gardens and Fort Lauderdale, plus doing community outreach events. The Moderna vaccine will be available to residents 18 and older. You can make an appointment here or check for vaccine events at satellite sites. These are the main locations:

• Downtown Jewish Center Chabad, AKA Broward Boulevard Clinic, 900 E. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 3330

Hospitals and health centers

Larkin Community Hospital is providing vaccines, when available. You can email vaccinehelp@larkinhospital.com or fill out this form. 

Milo Care is offering the J&J, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines by appointment in Pinecrest, Aventura and Plantation. You can make an appointment here.

Sanitas Medical Centers are offering vaccines at multiple locations in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. You do not need to be a current patient. Call 1-844-515-1800.

Jesse Trice Community Health System, which has multiple locations, is providing Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Call 305-637-6400 for an appointment.

Empower U Medical Center in Miami is offering vaccines by appointment Monday through Friday at 7900 NW 27th Ave., Miami, Fl 33147, including a drive-through option. You can call or text 786-318-2337 for an appointment or request an appointment online..

Cano Health is administering vaccines to its patients in South Florida. Call 855-226-6633 for an appointment. 

The Pediatric and Family Health and Wellness Center is offering Moderna vaccines by appointment Tuesdays and Fridays. Call 305-474-1800 for appointments. The center is at 1825 NW 167th St., Miami Gardens, FL 33056.

Niklaus Children’s Hospital is providing Pfizer vaccines to young adults ages 12 to 21. You can make an appointment online.  Patients who have reached 21 are only eligible if they are under the care of a pediatrician and submit this form. Walk-in vaccines offered, no appointments, from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (research building), 3100 SW 62nd Avenue, Miami, FL 3315. If you have questions, you can call 786-624-2782.

Community Medical Group is providing vaccines at its offices in Miami (multiple locations), Florida City, North Miami Beach, Opa-locka and Hialeah. For an appointment, call 786-377-7777. Walk-ins may be accepted on Saturdays.’

Dr. Marc Saltzman of Innovative Medical Research in Aventura is offering the Moderna vaccine. To make an appointment, call 305-757-2226 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. (You cannot leave a message.) 

Express Gene Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory will administer the Moderna, Pfizer or J&J vaccine at 9000 SW 152nd St. Suite 209, Miami, FL 33157. You can make an appointment online or call 786-250-3419.

Community Health of South Florida is offering vaccines at its offices in Miami, South Miami, Homestead, Florida City, Naranja, West Perrine and West Kendall. You can request an appointment here. The vaccine is not specified, but you must be 18 or older.

Care Resource of South Florida is offering Moderna and J&J vaccines at its offices in Midtown Miami, Little Havana and Miami Beach, as well as in Fort Lauderdale and Oakland Park. Existing patients can call 305-576-1234 for an appointment. New patients can request a vaccine appointment here.

Veterans Administration

The Veterans Administration is providing vaccines to all veterans, spouses (including common-law spouses), former spouses and caregivers. You can be vaccinated at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center, 1201 NW 16th St, Miami FL 33125, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also make an appointment. Moderna or J&J.

Some homebound veterans may also be able to arrange vaccines. Vaccines are also being given by appointment only at the VA in Sunrise, Homestead, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Deerfield Beach and Key West. You can make an appointment by calling 305-575-7000.

Homebound residents

Fire-rescue departments are vaccinating some homebound seniors. If you need to arrange vaccination for a homebound senior, email HomeboundVaccine@em.myflorida.com or call 866-779-6121.

Pulse Clinical Alliance traveling nurses are administering vaccines at homes in Miami-Dade. You can request a vaccine here.

Homebound veterans of the two world wars can request a vaccine at https://floridavets.org/homeboundveterans/ or call 850-487-1533, extension 9. 

The City of Hialeah is offering vaccines to homebound city residents. Call 305-863-2955 for an appointment.

The City of Miami Springs is offering vaccines to homebound city residents. Call 305-805-5160 or request an appointment here.

Which vaccines are being given?

So far, three vaccines have been approved for use in the United States, and both are being given in South Florida. Residents receive two doses of the same type of vaccine.

• Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. This vaccine requires two doses, 21 days apart. Click on the link to learn more about how this vaccine works.

• Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. This vaccine requires only one dose. 

Do I need health insurance to get a vaccine?

You do not need health insurance to get a vaccine. Most sites will ask for your insurance information, because your insurance will pay for it if you have insurance. but if you don’t have insurance, the federal government will pay for it.

Do I have to be a Florida resident to get a vaccine?

Proof of residency is no longer required. You may be asked for a photo ID that proves your age, and you may be asked if you are a resident of Florida or if you are working or doing business in Florida. No work documents will be required.
