Friday Nights @ Frost playing through Aug. 21

Music fans spoke and their voices were heard!

Due to popular demand, organizers extended the Friday Nights @ Frost virtual music series through August. But August is here – and there are only three performances left. So now is the time to check it out if you haven’t already!

Presented on the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music YouTube page, fans have stayed glued to their screens since the weekly concerts began in late March.

The remaining schedule includes the following re-broadcast performances:

  • July 17: The Frost Symphony Orchestra presents the opera production of Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon a re-imagining of the classic Cinderella story. Performance in French with English subtitles.
  • July 24: Christmas in July! Stephen Guerra’s Big Band Holiday Concert featuring selections representing Christmas traditions from around the world.
  • July 31: Frost Wind Ensemble concert conducted by Robert M. Carnochan and Steven D. Davis with student conductor Tina DiMeglio and Jennifer Grim on flute.
  • Aug. 7: Christine Jobson Recital, the soprano performs guest pianist Sarah Ruff
  • Aug. 14: Ensemble Ibis, directed by Shawn Crouch performs a program of contemporary works
  • Aug. 21: Frost Percussion Group performs a program of percussion masterworks under the direction of Svet Stoyanov

Classical-music lovers, this should get you through the summer – and who knows, if you keep watching it might be extended again!
