A note from Tri-Rail: “Passengers that pre-purchased an April Monthly Pass will be credited with an October pass, and are encouraged to call 1-800-TRI-RAIL (874-7245) to confirm their EASY Cards have not expired. One-way and Round-trip full fare passes will be available for purchase on the GO Miami-Dade Transit app, for those who want to avoid purchasing fares from ticket vending machines.”

During its regular schedule, Tri-Rail offers weekend discounts of $5 all-day fares. Students, children age 5-12, seniors and residents with disabilities pay $2.50. On weekdays, one-way fares typically range in price from $2.50 to $8.75 for adults, depending on the route. Kids age 4 and younger ride for free.

WHAT ABOUT SAFETY?

The transportation authority asks that passengers take the following precautions, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • Use a facial covering.
  • Frequently wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick and stay at least 6 feet away from other people.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow, not your hand. Alternatively, cough or sneeze into a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash, and wash your hands.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces such as keyboards, mobile telephones and steering wheels.

“We have redoubled our efforts on sanitizing Tri-Rail equipment, with a focus on ticket vending machines, benches and handles, which people access more frequently,” SFRTA executive director Steven Abrams said in a statement.
