Florida shoppers rev up your wallets for a tax-free shopping spree. For Freedom Week in Florida, eligible outdoor & recreation items and entry to eligible venues & events are exempt from usual Florida state sales tax. You’ll save at least 6 percent on qualifying purchases.
For some items, such as sunglasses, a portion of the purchase price is exempt from sales tax. For sunglasses, up to $100 of the total price is exempt from sales tax.
Florida’s tax-free Freedom Week event is July 1 – July 7, & examples of items & prices except from Florida state sales tax include:
- $500 for kayaks
- $300 for paddleboards & surf boards
- $200 for tents
- $15 for sunscreen & insect repellent
- $30 for water bottles
- $50 for portable hammocks
