Mom gives you comfort, love and is always your go-to for … just about everything. On May 10, show her your appreciation.
Yes, it’s that time of the year. Mother’s Day is coming right up, so whether you’re honoring your mom or making plans to honor yourself (go ahead, you deserve it!), now is a good time to start thinking ahead and planning for that special day.
Surprise Mom with a special meal. Local restaurants and franchises are serving up meal-deal bundles for the entire family that are sure to hit the spot on Mother’s Day. Our list of eateries includes Carrabba’s, Bonefish Grill, Cafe Prima Pasta in Miami Beach and Bartaco in Aventura. See if your mom’s favorite is on the list!
Cards are a must for Mother’s Day! If you’re feeling like you need to express yourself in writing now more than ever, send her a message of love and appreciation. After all, a card is a memento she can keep forever. And, best of all, Hallmark is providing free greeting cards now, so it’s a good time to take advantage of this deal.
How about treating your mom to a sweet and boozy drink? Surprise her with her favorite concoction! Plenty of Miami’s best restaurants are making their cocktails available to-go. Many serve beer and wine, too, if that’s more her style.
Does your mom love culture and entertainment? Treat her to a virtual tour of one of our many beautiful local attractions. Set aside some time, sit down at the computer (or laptop or tablet … ) together and enjoy views of Deering Estate, Jungle Island and Frost Science, to name a few. You can also visit Vizcaya Museum and Gardens which will reopen on May 10 for Mother’s Day and before reopening to the public, the Museum is hosting an online orchid workshop on May 9 at 11 a.m. for $10.
Kids can make something fun and colorful for Mom with the help of renowned artist Romero Britto. The Miami Children’s Museum has partnered with Britto on a how-to video that kids can watch to create their own version of his iconic “Heart with Wings” artwork. It can also be turned into a puzzle!
They say where flowers bloom, so does hope. So now would be a good time to spread some hope and color and cheer with a beautiful arrangement of flowers. We can tell you there are some nice offers from a couple of national florists.
