You know you’re from Miami when you have friends with mango trees who are willing to share – and when you can walk through just about any neighborhood in the summer and encounter the sweet smell of this ripening fruit. There is an abundance of mango trees of all types and varieties throughout our fair city.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is dedicating the whole month of July to this sweet fruit. Its Mango Days of Summer kicks off July 10 and runs each weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fairchild has been celebrating mango season for more than 25 years, and this year is no different! Aside from enjoying the traditional mango festivities that will be offered over the next four weekends in July, entrance to Mango Days of Summer also includes access to a slew of summer activities.
General admission is $25 for adults, $18 for seniors age 65 and older, $16 for students and $12 for children age 6-17.
Here’s what’s happening:
- The Marketplace during Mango Days of Summer on the weekend of July 10, 17, 24, and 31. Sample a variety of mango treats from local vendors or bring your own picnic and blanket to enjoy in the gardens. It’s a great place to enjoy a cool mango smoothie or tasty mango bread.
- Summer Concerts on July 17 and 18 where you’ll enjoy live music at the Garden with two concerts on Saturday and Sunday.
- The Brunch during Mango Days of Summer, July 24 and 25 where you can munch on brunch items from South Florida’s favorite restaurants. More details and ticket information to come.
- Finale Weekend, July 30, July 31, and August 1 where you’ll be treated to a mango feast fit for a king or queen. More details and ticket information to come.
Each weekend is jam-packed with mango-filled adventures for the whole family. While you’re there, don’t forget to take advantage of the 83-acre garden, with the only tropical rainforest experience in the continental United States, the Wings of the Tropics exhibit with hundreds of species of butterflies, the popular Jurrasic Garden, and so much more.
The garden is at 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
