Pompano, Weston, Sunrise  & other towns in South Florida are rocking Fourth of July with fireworks, parades, water slides, fun activities & live entertainment. July 4th events in Broward primarily are July 4, with a few events earlier during the weekend

Plenty of Independence Day festivities in Broward  feature exciting live entertainment.  Examples include

Fourth of July events in West Broward

Sunrise

  • Parade of Stars & Family Fun Day  9 a.m. – 12 p.m. July 4 Parade runs west on Sunset Strip from Northwest 12th Street to the park 6600 Sunset Strip. At the park, festivities include refreshments, inflatable water slide & kids’ fun zone
  • Fun & Fireworks 5 p.m. – 9 p.m July 4, outdoors @ BB&T Center, One Panther Parkway, Sunrise, includes fun zone for youngsters, food & drink vendors, live entertainment & fireworks, free entry & free parking, website

Fireworks Extravaganza July 4 with opportunities in person & virtual.  Event includes

  • 5:30 p.m. live music featuring Jazhilla Group, reggae
  • 7 p.m. VAM band, popular hits
  • 9 p.m. fireworks from floating barge offshore

Live music is south of Fisher Family Pier, 222 N. Pompano Beach Boulevard, Pompano, if attending in person, no pets, no alcohol, no fireworks, no glass, no drones

Fireworks show @ Quiet Waters Park, 401 Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach 33442, 9 p.m. Gates open for Deerfield residents @ 3 p.m.  & 5 p.m. for non-residents. Food trucks on site. Spectators are encouraged to supply their own food & drinks. No propane grill, glass bottles or fireworks permitted

Hollywood

4th of July Star Spangled Spectacular on Hollywood Beach is 5 p.m. to about 9:30 p.m. July 4

Events include

  • 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. live entertainment @ Hollywood Beach Bandshell on Johnson Street
  • 7 p.m. welcome from Hollywood mayor & commissioners
  • 9 p.m. fireworks offshore

Free shuttles 

Organizers recommend parking in downtown Hollywood and riding free shuttles to oceanside July 4th festivities. Shuttle pick-ups are

  • Radius Garage, 250 N. 19th Avenue 
  • Van Buren Garage, 251 S. 20th Avenue

     Shuttles run 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. from downtown Hollywood. Returning rides from festivities on Hollywood beach run 9:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.  Masks required.

Sun Shuttle

The Sun Shuttle is an environmentally-friendly, electric public transportation option. Description: “An App requested ride is $1.00 per fare. A flag down ride is free. Flag down riders can and hop on and off along the route the driver is already going for the paid App requested ride. The Sun Shuttle will be operating from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 4th. Download the free “Ride Circuit” App from the App Store or Google Play

Hollywood Hollywood Beach & Hollywood parks are plastic-free & foam-free. No single-use plastic or foam is permitted. Please take home any reusable items you use.

Lauderdale-by-The-Sea

 Festivities include a parade on El Mar Drive featuring Stilt Walkers & Fire Trucks. Family Fun Day at El Prado Park includes a water slide, entertainment, face painting and other fun. Fireworks are at 9 p.m., 4500 El Mar Drive, 33308, website
