Deering adds limited guided access of museums, plus news on popular Miami spots

Slowly, and taking every precaution mandated by the county, Miami-Dade County’s most popular attractions have opened to the public, with limitations.

Deering Estate‘s outdoor areas are open for your enjoyment, including the Main Estate Grounds, Deering Point, People’s Dock and North Addition Environmentally Endangered Lands. Social distancing, face covering and other safety guidelines will be enforced. You’re encouraged to bring a personal water bottle during your visit as they want guests to stay hydrated. Starting June 1, Deering will offer limited guided access to the museums at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. daily. Guests must register for guided access at the ticket booth upon entry to the park. Read the full details here.

At Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, only 10 acres of the gardens are open with social distancing rules in place. The Main House and all indoor spaces remain closed to the public. Read about their reopening here.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has reopened but only to members and only with a one-way route that is 2 miles long. Interior and interactive exhibits, as well as the tram tour, remain closed. It’s still a nice way to enjoy fresh air and the lush landscape that the attraction offers. Plan ahead because Fairchild is limiting entry to just two-hour blocks throughout the day.
