AileyCamp Miami at the Adrienne Arsht Center provides an incredible opportunity to underprivileged youth. For six weeks, 1,000 11 to 14-year-old young campers develop their artistic talents during the full-scholarship summer day camp program. You can see what they learned in a free performance Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall. Reserve first access passes here.
The camp is designed to help the middle school students develop their self-esteem, creative expression and imagination. Watch as the students perform routines they learned in West, African, Modern, Jazz and Ballet dance classes.
Offered in partnership with the Alvin Ailey Foundation, the students also gain valuable like skills during the camp. They’re taught about nutrition, conflict resolution, drug prevention and critical thinking through Personal Development and Creative Communication classes.
