With many cultural institutions still closed, art aficionados have limited options. Until now.
The first-ever Art at the Park outdoor live painting event debuted Sept. 18 at Shops at Merrick Park.

Each weekend through the mid October, a rotating group of Miami-based, Hispanic artists will grace the al fresco shopping venue’s lower garden level for live painting sessions from 1-4 p.m. Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Sunday.
The event is part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations.
Scheduled so far are:
- Oct. 2-4: Ivan Roque, a Miami native who is a visual and street artist. View his work on his website, ivanroque.com, or on Instagram: @ivanjroque
- Oct. 9-11: Reinier Gamboa, a Cuban-born paint whose work explores American Indian, Latin and South American cultures. View his work on his website, reiniergamboa.bigcartel.com, or on Instagram: @reiniergamboa.
The completed artworks will be donated to local charities for use in their respective online auctions, thus benefiting their fundraising efforts.
