Free lamination of COVID cards available, if you so choose …

As more Miami residents get their coronavirus vaccine, it will become more important to ensure you have proof that you’ve rolled up your sleeve. You now have the option of protecting your vaccination card with free lamination from Staples and Office Depot/OfficeMax.

The Center for Disease Control advises all vaccine recipients to keep their cards, as these include which COVID-19 vaccine was given, the date(s) it was administered, and where it was received.

However, please be aware, that laminating these cards is not universally recommended. That’s because booster shots may be necessary later. Use your own judgment as to whether you want to make use of this free service.

Everyone who gets the vaccine receives a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card. The card may be your required passport over the summer, as you may need to show it to gain entry to many public places, events and/or businesses. The card may also be essential for any travel plans in the near future, domestic or international.

While you can laminate your card at home with a kit or possibly in your home office, it might be easier and more convenient to have it done by the office supply experts.

Office Depot/OfficeMax and Staples are offering to laminate vaccination record cards for free, with no purchase necessary. Both lamination offers only apply to the official CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card — no other documents qualify.

Through July 25, Office Depot and OfficeMax will get your card protected at no cost with this coupon. The offer is available at all locations nationwide. You can also provide coupon code 52516714 at the service counter.

With no expiration date (as of yet), Staples will also laminate your cards for free if you provide coupon code 81450 at the service counter.

Important: Unless you get the one-dose Johnson & Johnson, do not laminate your card until you have received both vaccinations.

The CDC recommends taking a picture of your vaccination card as a backup copy, in case yours gets lost.

In addition, even though you may be excited to get your final shot, it’s not wise to post your card on social media because of the personal information included.
