The skies will be awash in colorful, multi-shaped and fluttering kites during the now biannual Kite Days Festival from noon-5 pm Feb. 15-17 at Haulover Park, 10800 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.
Expect to see the 100-foot flying squid, 30-foot flying scuba man, 300-square-foot parafoils and more.
The folks from Skyward Kites host paper kite-building classes and demonstrations from longtime kite enthusiasts. In addition, there will be kite-flying competitions for both children and adults. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own kites and fly them or purchase one at the event.
There will be kids’ activities set up on the grassy field as well. Shoes with socks are recommended for individuals participating in open field activities. Those who just want to watch may opt to bring along a blanket.
Food trucks will be on hand selling tacos, burgers and more and performing live will be The Free Radz Band.
