Free Day at the Park for children with autism

Free Day at the Park for children with autism

In an effort to help children with autism and their families enjoy a day outdoors while taking advantage of resources, the City of Miami Parks Sandra DeLucca Developmental Center and University of Miami-Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities is hosting a Day at the Park at Jose Marti Park on Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Families will have an opportunity to recreate in an inclusive park setting while having access to free autism screenings and resources offered by the University of Miami-Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.

This is a collaborative effort between the City of Miami’s Parks and Recreation Disabilities Division at the Sandra DeLucca Developmental Center (SDDC) and the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (um-nsu-card). The primary goal of this event is to provide families and children with autism and related disabilities an opportunity to get to know their community by accessing their local park to play.
