Fans of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, you’ll want to be at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center’s annual Backyard Bash Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
The annual kick-off celebration for the center’s season this year features a performance by the band Classic Albums Live who will be performing some of the band’s most famous hits like “Learning to Fly,” “American Girl” and “Don’t Do Me Like That.” Also performing with be Miami’s own DJ Le Spam and jazz artist Albert Castiglia.
Other activities that night include:
- Kids Zone in the Lab Theater from 7-9 p.m. with art activities, face painting, games and photo opportunities
- Open rehearsals and demonstrations in the Dance Rehearsal Studio from 7-7:45 p.m. by Adele Myers Dances and from 8-8:45 p.m. by Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami
- Flamenco demo and lecture in the Black Box Theater from 7:15-8 p.m. by Flamenco Puro
Free admission but ticket required. Click here for ticket.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, but leave the coolers at home.
