You’re in for a real treat this holiday weekend with The Master Chorale of South Florida who is presenting a free family-friendly virtual concert “Classical Favorites” on July 5 at 4 p.m.

The 120-member choir has been performing choral-orchestral masterworks throughout South Florida for the past 17 years. In this new monthly virtual concert series entitled “Measure by Measure,” Artistic Director Brett Karlin takes you through the group’s performance archives.

Program for the initial virtual concert is as follows:

The choir performs repertoire pieces:

  • Ein Deutsches Requiem by Brahms
  • Symphony no. 9 by Beethoven
  • Romeo et Juliette by Berlioz
  • Ave verum corpus by Mozart

Also performing are Master Chorale singers:

  • Laura Parker performs Jacques Offenbach’s “Belle Nuit” Barcarolle from The Tales of Hoffman 
  • Phil Denny performs Schubert’s “Standchen”
  • Casey Kunmann performs Mendelssohn’s “Lift Thine Eyes” from Elijah
  • Edward Delgado performs Barber’s “Sure on this Shining Night”
