Halloween festivities will certainly be different this year. Many of last year’s events may not be happening in 2020, so we are including what we know of at the moment.
However, expect a lot of drive-thru type events and, when in-person, there will be social distancing and mask wearing required (although that shouldn’t be a problem for Halloween!).

Zombie Infested Halloween Drive-Thru
The City of Aventura Police Department is hosting this spook-fest in their parking garage where attendees are warned to keep an eye out for zombies popping up!
Oct. 30 and 31 from 6-11 p.m., Aventura Government Center, 19200 W. Country Club Dr., Aventura. Free but RSVP required.
Halloween Horsepower at Dezerland Park
Enter a ghoul-kart racing competition and enjoy unlimited arcade games, trick or treat stations, a costume contest and live DJ.

Not So Spooky Adventure and Harvest Market
This monthlong event features a variety of Halloween-themed drive thru experiences including:
- Not So Spooky drive-thru experience with haunted stories streamed through your radio
- Pumpkin Patch where you can buy pumpkins and carving kits
- Trick or Treating Alley where kids get treats from their favorite costumed characters
- Harvest Market where you can take photos, shop for fall items, take photos in a fall setting and grab a bite from local vendors in a socially-distant environment

Nightmare at the Curtiss Mansion
Take a terror-filled journey through this historic spot in Miami Springs where you’ll encounter demons, cannibals, clowns and witches from real-life horror stories to the supernatural. Temperature check required prior to entering, masks required and limited capacity.
Daily, 7-10 p.m., 500 Deer Run Rd., Miami Springs. $18.
Oct. 31
Monster Mash Bash
This Halloween bash includes costume contests, prizes, treats, ghost tours and plenty of candy
6-10 p.m. at North Miami Beach City Hall, 17011 NE 19th Ave. Free.
Halloween on Lincoln Road Mall
Family friendly in the early evening and then a more adult crowd after 9 p.m. Usually have in-store trick or treating at select stores.
5-11 p.m., Lincoln Road between Alton and Washington streets. Free.
Not So Spooky Halloween
More than 20 merchants will be handing out treats, selfie stations will be posted throughout along with more Halloween-themed fun.

Halloween Trunk or Treat Drive-Thru
Grab candy and treats from the comfort of your car!

Halloween Spooky Jam at Doral Yard
Halloween party at the newly-opened Doral Yard with a live musical performance by Sol + The Tribu along with a fall-themed drink special the Pumpkin Old-Fashioned for $10, $30 buckets with five Estrella Damm beers and specials on Paletas Morelia paletas for customers in costume.

Family-friendly event in the parking lot with Halloween decorations, music and Halloween candy goodie bags.

Drive-by Trunk or Treat
Miami Downtown Development Authority and Christ Fellowship Miami host a socially-distanced, family-friendly drive-thru event. Families encouraged to decorate their cars and come in costume.

Halloween Family Movie Night
Trick or treat through the rainforest at Fairchild then stick around for a fun Halloween-themed family movie.

Members $15; nonmembers $25; $10 for kids ages 6-17; free for children younger than 5.
Magic City Opera Halloween Celebration
Virtual Livestream of “Hansel & Gretel: A Halloween Opera” featuring famous melodies “Evening Prayer” and “When at Night I Go to Sleep.” 6:30 p.m., livestreamed from the North Beach Bandshell. Click here to reserve a virtual ticket. Free.
Target’s Boo Avenue
Participating Targets are converting their parking lots into drive-thru Halloween experiences with costumed cars decked out like a robot, skeleton, unicorn and pumpkin and costumed characters handing out candy.

It’s a Space(d) Jam! Halloween Family Jam
The family-friendly Halloween event includes a costume parade, so come in your best! and a Jam with Jamie. Masks are required and space is limited. RSVP to halloween@stateofkid.com

Halloween Trick or Treat Caravan (for Coral Gables residents only)

Halloween Comic Fest
Pick up a free comic book at one of several Miami comic book stores. Participating stores are Games of Gauntlet in North Miami, Knowhere Toys, Comics & Gaming in Hialeah, A&M Comics in Miami on Bird Road or Korka Comics in West Dade. Halloween Drive-Thru at IKEA
Dress in costume and head to the Miami Ikea store for a fun trick-or-treat, drive-thru event with Halloween wrapped candy and a goodie bag.

Trick-or-Treat Drive-Thru
Line up for a contactless drive-thru event with pre-packaged trick-or-treat bags filled with wrapped candies and other treats and free chocolate milk provided by Florida Dairy Farmers. The event is sponsored by Florida Dairy Farmers and Caleb and Calder Sloan’s Awesome Foundation.

Coco and Hocus Pocus screenings
Watch an afternoon screening of the Disney animated film “Coco” at 2 p.m. and the fun Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus” starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Park and Kathy Najimy at

Drive-thru Trick-or-Treat Street and Haunted Avenue
Costumed Halloween characters greet kids on Haunted Avenue and hand out bags of candy.
3:30-5 p.m. for kids ages 3-5, and 6:30-8 p.m. for kids ages 6-17, Scott Rakow Youth Center, 2700 Sheridan Ave., Miami Beach. $5 per car.
Maleficent drive-in screening
Watch the live-action film “Maleficent – Mistress of Evil” starring Angelina Jolie and also enjoy one goody bag per car including refreshments, popcorn and candy along with live DJ performances.

Halloween Drive-Thru Celebration
Miami Kids Magazine and The City of Miami host a Halloween-themed drive thru event with a car decoration contest for the three best cars. Prizes include tickets to Horrorland Miami, the Frost Science Museum and Busch Gardens; airpods; and a Bakerly gift basket. Families are encouraged to come in costume and arrive on time because the first 500 cars goody bags and other treats.

Gold Coast Railroad Museum
Kids up to 12 years old in costume get free admission to the museum and Halloween candy. Visitors are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch.

Virtual Halloween Costume Contest
Dolphin Mall is hosting a Halloween House Decorating Contest. Submit a photo of your spooky, creepy decked out house to shopdolphinmall@taubman.com by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 25. Winners receive Visa gift cards. First prize is $1,500, second prize $1,000 and third place $750. Halloween House Decorating Contest
The City of Hialeah is hosting a Virtual Halloween Costume Contest. Categories are for kids ages 0-12, teenagers ages 12-17, adults ages 18-54 and seniors 55 and up. You can enter your pet too! Submit a photo of your costume to events@hialeahfl.gov by 3 p.m. on Oct. 23. First prize is $150, second prize $100 and third place $50. Winners will be announced on Oct. 31. Free.

Kiddo-Ween Safe Trick or Treat

Lowe’s Curbside Trick or Treat

Halloween drive-in movie event
City of Miami Beach is hosting a Halloween-themed drive-in movie event with a judged Halloween Car Decorating Contest where prizes will be awarded. Gates open at 7:15 p.m., movie screens at 8 p.m., Convention Center Rooftop parking on Washington Ave. and 20 St., Miami Beach. $10 per car.
Oct. 23
The Spooky Drive-in Movie Theater
Screening of the Halloween movie “The Addams Family” and although the drive-in portion is sold out, tickets for circle lawn seating for a maximum group of six will be sold the day of the event.

After Dark at Stafford Park
This Halloween event with candy and Halloween-themed fun activities is open to Miami Spring and Virginia Gardens only.

The Nightmare Before Christmas
Watch the Halloween classic by Tim Burton about Jack Skellington, a living skeleton from Halloweentown who after finding a door to Christmastown, wreaks havoc on the holiday. Trick or treat candy bags will be available at a kiosk. Social distancing and mask wearing guidelines will be in place.

Spooky Symphony Concert: A Halloween Extravaganza

Rocky Horror Picture Show
Watch the annual showing of this cult classic, a social phenomenon with audience participation. Don’t forget to come in costume for the contest and bring your props! Maximum capacity of 150.
