The South Florida Emerald Society hosts its 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Fred B. Hartnett Ponce Circle Park in Coral Gables.
Various traditional Irish groups are performing that day, including Irish singer and harpist Tricianne Garihhy, the Avalon band, Celtic Cross featuring Paddy Kelleghan, Tipsy Laird, the St. Andrew Bagpipe Band, and Breffni Academy of Dance Irish Dancers. The Miss Colleen pageant also returns.
Kids can ride down a giant slide, go in a bounce house, ride a merry-go-round and climb a rock wall. Irish favorites such as corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, Irish coffee, Irish soda bread, whiskey cake and Irish whiskey and stout will be for sale — as well as a wide variety of Irish crafts.
