Every weekend, Homestead invites its residents, neighbors and visitors to explore Everglades and Biscayne National Parks and Homestead’s Bayfront Park with a free guided trolley ride from Historic Downtown Homestead. The free trolley will run every Saturday and Sunday through April 12.
The City of Homestead, designated as the “Gateway to Everglades and Biscayne National Parks,” created this program to offer free public transportation to Everglades and Biscayne National Parks by expanding its already successful local trolley service.
In addition, the entrance fee for Everglades National Park is waived for all trolley riders to visit the Anhinga Trail at Royal Palm. Admission to Biscayne National Park and Homestead Bayfront Park also is free for trolley riders.
The trolley runs from Losner Park to Everglades National Park’s Ernest Coe Visitor Center, then to Biscayne National Park’s Dante Fascell Visitor Center, then to Homestead Bayfront Park.
There are several free Saturday and Sunday Park programs at Biscayne National Park including a two-hour canoe/kayak trip, a jetty walk, kids’ activities and a porch talk along with monthly Sunday Family Fun Fests.
In Downtown Homestead, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, you can enjoy local area restaurants, take in Homestead’s beautiful historic architecture, or visit the free Old Town Hall Museum before or after the trolley ride to the parks.
At Everglades National Park, you can walk the Anhinga Trail, do the Glades Glimpse and learn about the wonder of the park with a ranger or spot gators along the trail in the Gator Spy program.
At Homestead Bayfront Park, located next to Biscayne Park, enjoy the atoll pool and beach, picnic area, playground, fishing area and grills.
The trolley depot is at Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Ave., Homestead, FL. Parking is free. Call 305-224-4457 for more info.

Thank you for the tips! We visit here almost every year and always took a car ride, had no idea we can take such a nice trolley and for free! Kids are definitely going to enjoy it since we plan to visit on Dec 30th this year. I hope that not too many people go there though so we don't have to wait few hours because I'd rather drive then! Bayfront Park is our favorite, I recommend it to anyone who has not been there yet to pay a visit, you won't regret. Such a nice place with great landscape, absolutely worth your time.
