Free food drive-thru on Thursday at Miami Children’s Museum

Miami Children’s Museum is stepping up to help South Florida food initiatives, with the Children’s Week Literacy Drive-Thru & Food Distribution on Thursday, April 1.

From 9 a.m. to noon, the museum will distribute free grocery packages and “family kits” to 500 families. The kits will include “resources, books, goodies, and an art activity to promote literacy,” according to organizers.

The event, sponsored by Early Learning Coalition and Farm Share, will be conducted as a contactless drive-thu operation.

Please note: Goods will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Also, no walk-ups will be allowed.

This event is expected to take place rain or shine!

The museum is at 980 MacArthur Causeway. For more information, call 305-373-KIDS (5437), ext. 128, or visit miamichildrensmuseum.org.

Free food distributions in South Florida

Organizations continue offering free food distribution for families that need help. Some sites provide drive-through pickups, while others offer doorstep deliveries for eligible participants. Face coverings are required at all of these sites.

How it works: Guests must enter through what organizers are describing as “the old A1A” and remain in their cars. Then, they should pull up to the distribution point with the windows up and trunks open.
