This year will be no different except… the performances will be virtual. And where they are usually live performances, this year’s event will feature dance on film segments and recorded concert footage.
The sampler – named after Daniel Lewis, founder of the New World School of the Arts Dance Department – will be available on YouTube via a private link. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by clicking here.
Moderated by Cameron Basden of Miami Dance Hub, the pieces’ themes vary and include:
- A flamenco interpretation of an Ibsen play.
- A dance video shot among the Florida mangroves.
- Several quarantine-inspired works.
The featured dance groups are:
- Ballet Flamenco La Rosa
- Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida
- Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami
- Dance Now! Miami
- Momentum Dance Company
- Karen Peterson and Dancers
- Kyra Jean Green
