Free arts family fun with trio of FIU museums

Florida International University’s trio of arts museums are joining forces for virtual family fun.

They are offering “3 X 3 X 3: Inside/Outside,” a free weekend series that kicks off at 1 p.m. Oct. 10.

To keep up with latest news, sign up for the daily Miami on the Cheap newsletter. You can also follow us on Facebook and on Twitter and visit our Facebook group page

The three museums affiliated with FIU are: The Art Museum on the school’s main campus, and The Wolfsonian and Jewish Museum of Florida, both on Miami Beach.

Kicking off the series is The Wolfsonian. The museum’s educators will guide families through virtual interactive activities. Using their extensive collection as inspiration, the hourlong session will explore the paradox between outward appearances and inside reality: from a piece of fruit, to a book, even to you, the participant!

To prepare, make sure you have colored pens, colored craft paper, scissors and pipe-cleaners handy. You’ll need them to make a globe that demonstrates how what we show others isn’t always the full picture.

Click here to RSVP and receive the link to participate virtually.
