Free pet food: See if you’re eligible

If you’re struggling financially at this time and are in need of pet food, you can find help from ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Miami. It is now offering free pet food to Miami-Dade County residents affected by the current times, with a few provisions to follow.

To keep up with latest news, sign up for the daily Miami on the Cheap newsletter. You can also follow us on Facebook and on Twitter.

The service is part of the ASPCA’s Relief and Recovery Initiative offering free dog and cat food to people who qualify. Distribution is by appointment only. Call 800-738-9437 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to request an appointment.

Requirements to take into consideration:

  • Only healthy residents will be given the food if eligible.
  • Photo ID, appointment, time, name and Zip code are all required at time of pickup.
  • Only two people allowed per car, and no pets are allowed in line.
  • You must arrive promptly at appointment time. If you think you’re arriving late, call the appointment line.
