The iconic Barbie doll is turning 60 and to celebrate the Barbie Be Anything Tour is coming to Wal-Mart in West Miami-Dade on Saturday Oct. 5 at Wal-Mart Doral Supercenter 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6 at Wal-Mart Miami Supercenter noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
The Barbie “Be Anything” Tour will give fans a chance to win $20,000 to make their dreams come true. To celebrate the 60th anniversary, Erin Jackson will be on site at the event from 1-3 p.m. to share her story of how she is living her dream.
Barbie fans will have the chance to see Barbie’s 60 Years of Careers exhibit, virtual “Be Anything” wall, career role play and dress up. Athlete Erin Jackson, who is a Florida native herself, recalls growing up skating at the local roller rink from as far back as she can remember. At nine, she started roller figure skating. Always drawn to going fast, she switched to inline speedskating and eventually became a 47-time National Champion, an 11-time World Championships medalist, and in 2015, a Pan Am Game medalist. She is currently a member of Team USA Roller Derby, and recently competed in the 2018 US Olympics.
