Chanukah begins Dec. 10 and ends Dec. 18, and throughout Miami, you can find celebrations and menorah lightings planned to commemorate this special time.

DECEMBER 13

Let’s Share the Light! A Chanukah Show: 10:30 a.m. at The Alan and Diane Lieberman Theater, 18900 NE 25th Ave., North Miami Beach. Tickets $15. Click here for details.

City of Coral Gables Festival of Lights and Chanukah Celebration: Celebrated on the fourth night of Chanukah, this event features a Firetruck Parade and Gelt Drop. Coral Gables firefighters will affix a large menorah to their truck, and a dreidel mascot will shower down chocolate gelt (coins) for all participants. There will be live musical entertainment, a Samoan Fire knife Dance Show and a Chanukah gift bag for each child. Free individually packaged hot potato latkes and traditional Chanukah doughnuts will be served. There also will be a free raffle. 4:30-5:30 p.m., Ponce Circle Park, 2800 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables. Free.

DECEMBER 15

Let it Glow Chanukah Celebration: Celebrate the Festival of Lights at the community celebration with a menorah lighting and performance by Evelyn Goldfinger, with her show “Let’s Turn on the Light.” 4:45-6:30 p.m., Alper JCC, 11155 SW 112th Ave., Miami. DECEMBER 17

Menorah Lighting and Celebration: Hosted by Chabad of Palmetto Bay and Deering Bay, this event will include potato latkes, donuts, chocolate gelts, soft drinks and music. 6-8 p.m., Palmetto Bay Village Hall, 9705 E. Hibiscus St. Free. Call 305-259-1234 for more information.
