Mad Hatter Arts Festival

mad-hatterThe annual Mad Hatter Arts Festival returns to the Barnacle State Historic Park and the sidewalks of Main Highway in Coconut Grove on Nov. 18 and 19 from 10 am to 5 pm. The $2 park admission gets you into the festival, which features artists, vintages,  music and entertainment.

The juried art show is on the grounds of the Barnacle and along Main Highway and features artworks by artists in all types of media. There also will be hat contests, kids’ activities and a drum circle. Food will be available for purchase from The Barnacle Society’s concession stand and select food vendors or venture into the Village for drinks and treats at participating restaurants and eateries.

On Nov. 18, the Barnacle will reopen at 6 pm for a screening of  “Alice in Wonderland” at 7 pm (no entry after 7:15). The Disney animated classic tells the story of  the young Alice and her adventures in Wonderland with a unique cast of characters she meets there. Attendees are encouraged to bring flashlights and blankets, and no pets are allowed.

The Barnacle is at 3485 Main Hwy., Miami FL 33133. Admission to the movie is $6 for ages 13 and up; $5 for children ages 6-12; $3 for ages 2-5 and children under 2 are free. Call 305-442-6872 for more info.
